Home Sweet Home Challenge at CCC

I am back this week with Crafty Creations Challenge. I set the them as Home Sweet Home this week.

I was away at the mayo with my oldest son this week, so I have some stuff, but was very limited. I so wanted to work with the lovely Deena's digi stamp, but I forgot to print out before we left. Duh!

I saw this type of card in Card Maker a while back. Loved the look of it and wanted to give it a whirl. All I got to say is holy smokes that was a lot of work. Between cutting and re-cutting and then embossing the top panels it was more work than I thought it would be. Used 4x8 base of Dessert Sand (CTMH). Then 1/4 less in Outdoor Denim. Then came the hard part, all the panels. There are the 1st layer on top of the full door then the 2nd layer of panels are a bit smaller, embossed and popped up. Love the look of the card with the sanded edges and dept looks great in real lift. Added the popped plaque with saying to add some contrast.

I used a brad and metal tag for the door knob. Below is the saying I stamped to finish off the inside.

Little Princess

My Little Goddaughter turned One last week! Isn't she just a doll!

I made her a Little Princess card, as she is treated like Royalty! And Yes I do believe she knows it too!

I also had the pleasure of baking her 1st birthday "cake". I used my Cricut and cut out the picks for the cupcakes. Love how they turned out! Yes the cupcakes are gluten, egg and dairy free! The frosting did have butter in it with her mom's approval.

This was her first real self feeding. So she loved mushing it up in her fingers and hands. I don't think she got much in her mouth, but she had fun!

Isn't Huge Love Henry a Doll! I colored a whole boatload of these cuties in 4 different shades, so expect to see him lots in the next couple weeks for Valentine's Day. This is my CCChallenge card for this week, yes a day late and not what I was aiming for, but my mojo is in hiding I guess. The Mouse is Whiff of Joy of course. The sentiment and hearts along with papers are all CTMH. The ticket tags are Tim Holtz both stamp and dies. Ribbon is from my stash of unknown (recycled from some gift). I got back last night from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester with Jason. We are still trying to figure out his Gastro-Intestinal issues that he has had since birth. We were unable to get in with a doctor waiting for the last two days, but they did actually agree to see him. So we were lucky to get an appointment in 2 weeks, normally it is booked till late March, but someone had just cancelled. Opted not to stay the rest of the week and wait to hopefully get in and will go on our appointment. I am not really looking forward to a 3 hour drive at 4 am again, but what I won't do for my children.

I did get 28 Henry with Hearts colored from Whiff of Joys line, so as soon as I get a Valentine made I will post it this week. Hopefully today yet, but I brought back a dreadful cold with me last night. Yuck! That and I have to try unpacking all the scrapbooking stuff I brought down (well partly, as I will need it in 2 weeks anyway). Not to mention the clothing and stuff. Hope to get back at it after a nap and some medicine this morning.

So sorry to my CC Blog friends, that I am so late uploading this.

I made this for the boys for Christmas. I filled the drawers with candy, slips of paper of things that need to get done before Christmas, and small trinkets or tokens. I realized the boys were having a hard time figuring out where they are at, so I ended up turning the drawers around when we are done with that day. So the numbers that are left are the days left.

Papers are a collection of CTMH and Little Yellow Bicycle.

Bling is all CTMH, except snowflakes are from ?

The actual altered piece is from Kaiser Kraft.

Stamps are all CTMH.

I had Jason in to the ER in St.Cloud this week. Thus the rest of my week has been crazy. I will try to post early this week on what is going on with him. He will turn 8 tomorrow!

Here is my make for the week.
I used the Dreamin' Paper Packet for both the card and the box.
I cut the box with my cricut, using the new Art Philosophy Cartridge from CTMH.
The stamps are from Key Moments. Stamped the Outside of watch and embossed in gold. I then stamped inside and hands on white cardstock, cut out and sponged with orange and brown. Sentiment is from the top strip from paper. Add ribbon to finish it off.

All Products are CTMH.

CC Challenge- Recycle REcycle Recycle

This week Peggy has chosen the challenge to recycle. My 3 are the ribbon, clip, and gems. The ribbon and clip came from a tag on a shirt I bought and the gems are recycled from a make and take from scrapfest a few years back. Our very own Deena, has done the image for this week and is sponsoring a prize from here Esty store. She has done a wonderful job expanding herself to drawing images!

I kept the card fairly simple, using my new Art Philosophy cartraidge for my Cricut for the card and cuts this week. I am still figuring out how to use my Cricut, so hopefully I get more creative with it in the future. Colored the image with H2O pencils and spica pens. Stamped Merry christmas with distress ink and heat and bond. Then sprinkled green flock over it so it is fuzzy. Used puff paint on the hat rim and ball.

Papers are from CTMH and Little Yellow Bicycle.

Inked edges with Ponderosa Pine (CTMH) and clipped corners round with my fisker corner punch.

So wow has the fall flown by so far. As I write this all the fieldwork is coming to an end and the trees are beautiful shades of Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, and Brown. My favorite time of year is Fall and I love the crunch of leaves beneath my feet. So your challenge this week is to use leaves and the beautiful fall palette for your creation.

I made some delish chocolate carmel cupcakes this weekend and made these cute boxes to put some of them in. I stamped the little leaves with distressing ink by squirting a bit of several colors on a cosmetic sponge. Then I cut the leaf with my new cricut. Colored them with the sponge of colors, and stamped "my sweet friend" (Whiff of Joy) on them. I tied hemp twine around box twice, tied on fork, and then the leaf. Love how they turned out. (boxes are from oriental trading)

Crafty Decoration at CCC

Crafty Creations this week is a decoration. I finially got around to getting my creepy bottles made for Halloween. I so enjoy Halloween, so how could I resist put to add to my small collection.

I used CTMH papers from the new Halloween packet and last years as well. I used Thriller stamp set on the labels to add some color. I printed my labels on Daisy white Cardstock and cut out with spellbinders dies. I have now fallen in love with Scor-Tape. It is super stick and priced lower than tacky tape, that and there is so much more on a role!

Crafty Creations is back once again. The Challenge blog took a one week break, but I took a bit more than that. So I am back as well. This week we had the pleasure of using images from Lily of The Valley. Whom is also sponsoring this week's challenge.

I used papers from the CTMH miracle paper pack. Along with some netting and little flower from Nita's stash. Colored image (LOTV) with copics and spica pen for the wings. They twinkle a bit in real life. Other than that I distressed everything in chocolate ink and stamped Hi! from my CTMH "for all occasions" set.

I did have a blast at Scrapfests' Crop Around Town this year! The girls that cropped with me and Ashly on Friday night were our personality twins, it was a hoot! I did get loads done on both nights, so I will work on getting those posted tomorrow. (As I had Physical Therapy for my shoulder and Jake's 6 year old pics this morning, home for lunch now, and then off to get the car's oil changed and whatever part they didn't have for it on Monday in.) Lots of cool stuff from our sponsors at Crops and Yes! Lisa I embraced some white space on a layout Saturday night! Love how it turned out. So I will be back!

So the challenge wasn't too difficult this week. I have boat loads of punches and dies!

They are also offering the prize for this week as well. Loved this Crabby looking Crab from them. My brother gave me the sentiment, which I hand wrote in souffle white. I also outlined some of the bubbles and splashes on the paper with it. The metal crab is from Blue Moon, papers are fancy pants "beach bum" collection.

So the challenge this week was a color challenge. Orange, Red, and Green. Well I got two of them right and did pink (which in my defence is a shade of red) for my third. Hmmm I really should read the challenge before I do my project and not just think I remember what it was...

This one I did back in March when Jason was in the hospital.

Still can't believe it is the middle of August. I have actually been busy in the craft room, just not the greatest about getting them posted to here. I helped my aunt with her daughter's two scrapbooks for a grad party. But most of my time in it has been doing last minute cards for parties and birthdays. I have spent the better part of the summer doing farm work, running Jason to doctors or my self, experimenting in the kitchen, and cleaning the house (which I still don't understand how it gets so messy, when we are only in it several waking hours!) At present I am re- organizing my craft space and dreaming about my weekend off with Nana Nita to Scrapfest (really we are only doing evening crops, the rest will be shopping, eating and a few well deserved days away from the farm! Can you say sleeping IN!!) I will grace you with the pics I found on my camera that have not made it here yet.

In May we had a friend who turned 80. On the inside I printed "Does your Whistler still work? Cause that's a long time to whistle!"

Jason did finially get his follow up done with Dr.Sult (a more whole body/person MD) to figure out what is going on with his GI issues. He isn't digesting his foods down properly and has a "leaky gut". Leaky gut is where too many/ too big of things pass to your blood stream causing a whole load of system issues. He has an overgrowth of bad bacteria and lots of yeast in his gut, which is likely part of the cause. His nutrition test show lots of areas of malnutrition as well. His allergy test just confirmed it with his reactions to many many foods, some even deemed hypoallergenic. He also has a bulging disc at L5 and S1. A little young for that, but that is more than likely a lot of the lower colon's issues with not moving things along properly. So now my days involve mixing up his dietary supplements to a delicouis shake that he fights tooth and nail not to drink. John even tried it and was like can I drink that! He is just so male headed! Geez! Right now he looks like skin and bones, you can see his every bone on his torso. I think it is because he shot up a few inches again. John and I are very conserned about his lack of appetite and extreme skinny apperance. I am hoping that the next month starts to shift thing back to his favor before school starts.

CCC Thank You Challenge!

Over at CCC this week it is an easy one. Make a Thank You Project! Here is the card I made. Remember to enter for a chance to win the prize from In 2 Stamps!

The stamped images are Whiff of Joy (the Thank You is CTMH). I used a hodge podge of CTMH papers. Love the look of my new grass border punch from Fiskars. The buttons are from Jesse James. I colored with multiple mediums... Copics, Stabilo, waterbrush with CTMH inkpads, watercolor pencils, and CTMH markers.

Crazy week here once again. The boys helped break Grandpa Leo's gater last night and the parts to fix it aren't the cheapest. They are now grounded from driving anything with a motor for awhile. For some odd reason they can't help but drive through huge mud holes in the field. The day before they got stuck with the skidloader. AHHHHHH!! Guess that is the joy of having boys, instead of spending massive amounts of money on clothes and jewelery for them, it will all go to fixing what they break!

I am off to get my allergy shot this morning and hopefully it doesn't kick my butt for the entire weekend. Well I best get moving or I will be late. Happy creating!

Well here are all things sparkly. The letters are die cut from Glitter paper (DCWV). The glittered crown is from Nita's stash (so don't know origin) The gem flowers on the B A A are from martha stuart. The flowers with gems are from Martha as well on the R and N. And the other flowers on I and H are from Kay and Company with the leaves from Inspirations (I think). All the background papers are from Sophia Collection from CTMH as is the banner chip board. I used various ribbions I have aquired to tie them together.

Macaroons- Yummy!

Ingredients
4 egg whites
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup white sugar
4 cups sweetened flaked coconut
2 tsp. Almond Extract

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Lightly grease a baking sheet ( I used parchment paper).
Beat together the egg whites with the salt in a bowl until it forms soft peaks. Add the almond extract, then the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time while continuing to beat at high speed until stiff peaks form. Continue to beat until glossy. Fold the coconut into the egg mixture. Drop mixture by the teaspoonful onto the prepared sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
Bake in preheated oven for about 12 minutes.

I thought the lion was too cute. I ended up adding a grad hat to his head to make him into the cutest little graduate. Patterned Papers are CTMH. Lion is Whimsy Digi. Hat and text is CTMH. Buttons from misc. Cuttlebug emboss folder for yellow peice. Colored with Copics and H2O pencils.

Still picking rocks, yucky! Hope to finish up by early next week and then it will be time to weed the garden and get the kids back to the books so they don't forget what they learned during over the summer. Jason has one DR. appt. today and one int he cities tomorrow. Have a feeling I will learn more with the wholistic Dr. today than I have in the last 3 years at the u of m. . . As long has he feels better soon!

Well I have found out that I have a gluten, dairy, oat, banana, and orange allergies. I miss all the baked goods the most, but have been spending lots of time using alternitive flours and ingredients and have been filling in that gap. So in addition to my crafty work with papers and such. I will also be including some of my crafty work in the kitchen. There are so many wonderful resources out in blog land and I thank all of them. I will post links if I use their inspiration of a new dish. This one is one of my favorites. It is my auntie Pam's Jewish Apple Cake recipe, revamped to fit my allergies. It is as good as it looks too! YUMMMMY! I am enjoying a slice with some vanilla coconut milk sorbet as I type.

JEWISH APPLE CAKE
3 cups unsifted flour (gluten free mamas almond blend)
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil.
4 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
½ cup applesauce (this was orange juice)
4 tsps. Baking powder
1 tsp xyanthan gum
½ cup ground walnuts (opional)
Apple Mixture:
3-4 large apples peeled and thinly sliced
½ cup sugar
4 tsps. Cinnamon
1. Peel, core, and slice apples and mix together with the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. Cream together the eggs and sugar first. Add the remaining ingredients except the apple mixture. Mix together.
4. In a bundt cake pan that has been greased and floured put in 1/3 of batter and 1/3 of apples and so forth until all batter is gone.
5. Bake in a 350* F oven for 1 hour. Prick to see if it is done ( in several places) Do not over bake. Cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before unmolding it. (Time will very greatly on this one, so keep an eye on it and leave it in if it needs it.)

I made this about a month ago. This is the second one I did. Jason and I made one and Jake decided he wanted one. I must say the second came out better than the first, but first isn't too bad either. I cannot claim credit for all of it. Jake looped the macrame rope all the way around with a bit of help from me or John. Jake actually got John to do the initial first round on the web. He started the second and said this will take forever and handed it off to me. I was impressed that he got it that far. Hope you enjoy!

I colored the image from Whimsy Doodles (this weeks sponsor) with colored pencils and gamsol. I am just figuring out how to do it so bear with me. Distressed all papers with sand paper and colored in the crystal ball with perfect pearls by Tim Holtz. The the pearl embellie is from prima (I cut it apart so the whole thing isn't on the card).

CCC- Rainy

I made it, late but I made it!!! Crazy week here once again. I did finally gather enought time to finish this card. I couldn't find my image from Some Odd Girl. (I did find it after hours of searching my computer files to see where I placed it. Funny thing is it was where it was suppose to be. Guess I should look first next time.) I ended up creating my own rainy day for this one. Love how it turned out so, maybe it was for the better this time. I used an image by Elizabeth Bell from Whiff of Joy Stamps. Colored her with water pencils. Cut image out, I did cut the flowers out of hand so looks like she is holding umbrella instead. Used chipped shapire distressing ink with course stiple sponge and swept across page to give look of rain. I cut partial circle with die and then border punched edge and dry embossed to add lines for umbrella. Puffed that up a bit and added glass effects in blues for rain drops and puddle. Then added "Hello Sunshine" sticker and pearl effects.

This is actually Jason's Bunny Card that he made for his cousin's birthday. How is it they find more time for crafty things then me?

I am on the final weekend of my 28 day elimination diet. It was only a test run for Jason's this summer. So far Bananas, Oatmeal, and dairy are irritating, but have not added too much back in yet, which includes soy and gluten. Kinda afraid of the gluten as the oats were cross contaminated. But on the bright side I have started to learn how to cook gluten free and try a few different foods I didn't know exsisted. Hoping life dies down a bit soon, so I can get my crafty back on.

Hope this will bring some inspiration for the CCC challenge, it isn't for mother's day, but could very well work for a mother's day gift as well. I made this for my goddaugher, Faith. I loved how it turned out and am now working on a second for my cousin's little girl.

This one uses CTMH's adorable paper pack (retired) with hollyhock, pair, and chocolate. All the accents are from stash and far to numerous to figure out them all. Hope you enjoy!

Loved how the brown flock turned out on these. I did keep them fairly simple as time was limited. Hope you like.

The actual challenge this week is to create a Birthday Card/gift in blues and greens! Two of my favorite colors!!! I had no problem following that one! Sorry the pics aren't the greatest today. (Hospital lighting sucks and apparently so do my picture taking skills with 3 hours of sleep). I had to keep this one fairly simple for me as I only had what I brought with me.

You got a sneakpeak yesterday with my post on my neice. The tag is actually a magnet that can come off the card. I had fun with this weeks challenge, especially because I didn't expect to get to make a card for my new neice quiet yet. Hehe.

I started by heat embossing Willow with Toddler (Whiff of Joy Stamp by Elizabeth Bell). Colored with an assortment of products. The papers are from the new paperpacket "Sweetheart" from CTMH. It is availible Feb. 1st. I die cut circles and various hears as well as Tim Holtz's tickets. I tacked down and then heat embossed ultra thick embossing powder over the top several layers thick. While it was still hot I pressed in heart buttons. The tag is a clear one from TH and glossy accented papers to it and stamped faith on the top with stayzon ink. Then I inked up my new ticket stamps from CTMH for the corner tags.
I added bitty sparkles and a touch of ribbon. Loved how it turned out!

Welcome to the World

Miss Faith Marie Primus was born yesterday morning at 5:01am.

She was 2 weeks early and weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 ozs.( that was Jason's weight as well at birth!) and 18 1/2 inches long. She has her mommy's nose and is as cute as a button! Faith also shares her godmom's middle name and the 24th is the day her mommy was born too. (just a different month)

Kayla is doing well and Neil is already wrapped around her little fingers ! She let Godmom (me) hold her for 45 minutes or so, and only squeked when I changed her little butt. What a dolly! Can't wait to go visit her again on Saturday with the boys. They are excited to meet their newest cousin. Jason says, "oh she has such a cute little nose. She is so cute, mom!" Congrats again to Kayla and Neil and their new little princess!

My Maryland Makes

Well it was so wonderful to get to play with other people's toys for a change, and I must say Nana holds a fairly good strong torch to my stash. She has way more stuff! I did a couple more than these, but I will hold those for some of the challenges that are coming up on CCC. Nana's friend Brooke is a Stampin' Up Demo, so she had us do 3 cards with her. These are the Two that I will show you now and the other one I will hold that I vamped up a bit.

This one was the first one I did on my own at Nana's. I fell in love with this stamp, so I did stamp it a few more times. (hint: you may see it again) Love the hat pin, button, and the ribbons as well. I used my left over scraps on the first card that is up on top.

Cards for Soldiers and CCC

Sorry so late with this. I cut 48 of these a few weeks back. For religous ed this year we had the children (ages 5-13) put them together and color a bunch of them for our Christmas project. They had a blast and I was so proud of all of them for helping with such a worthy cause. I and my 2 boys finished what was left to do at home. I added a few that I had done before so in all we made 65 cards for Cards for Soldiers to send on to the troops!

It does fit into the CCC challenge for last week, check out the Challenge of Angels this week on CCC.

I ripped the design strait from the Dec. Issue of Card Maker Mag. Loved the button wreath in there, so I made this little gem. It was actually quick to make the sewing on the buttons took the longest, but I glued them in place and periced threw them first. Loved how mine turned out. Now if it didn't weigh a ton, I could mail a bunch for Christmas. HMMMMM....

The flash kinda faded it out so I gave you both, with and without.

CCC- Fairytale or Fable

This week the theme is Fairytale or Fable over at Crafty Creations. The images were provided by Meljen's Designs. She is also offering up the prize this week. Her images are too cute, you must check them out at her Shop.

I fell in love with the sleeply little dragon in an instant. So wonderful to work with for a baby card too. (As my newest niece was born on Tuesday morning!) I used some B&T papers from DCWV and the CTMH card stock. The sentiment was patched together using like 5 CTMH sets and my personal handwritting for the words I couldn't find or just didn't was to look for in all my stamps. (Cause i bet if I would have taken the time I could of found everyone of them without using my letter sets to spell them out!) I used pearls from CTMH, glitter is from Home Depot (ceiling glitter), and the stars I found in the dollar bin. So here is the card and the picture of the cute little girl that it was for. . .

Little Miss Cassidy Brianna 9 lbs 9 oz. and 19 inches long. She is adorable, just like the other 4 that Shelly and Jeremy have created! Poor Dylan with all those sisters! Hehe

Yes it is Wednesday again, whew time flies around here. Well I did get my make done this week, I know that is 3 in a row!!! Wish I could say that means life is settling down, but no.
Melissa set the challenge this week to use green, red, and brown in your project, you are welcome to use whatever other colors as long as those 3 are included. Well luck would have it those are the main two colors of my Christmas cards this year and with the sponsors lovely image (Stitchy Bear Digi Stamps) brown was a breeze to throw in as well. for sending me this wonderful thank you card. It is amazing, look closely at the flowers the were made by her. The big one is all little hearts, inked and glued onto a circle. Well has I have not been able to load my pictures yet of my CCC card this week, I will give you this one until Blogger comes back online for Pictures. I made this little Stella card for Kristina's 21st Birthday. I do believe that was her in the glass by the end of the night. hehehe.
the layout was a very basic CTMH original all papers were CTMH, most retired. Inked edges of everything, stamped giddy and party both from different CTMH sets. Stella is from Bella Stamps. Pearls are from CTMH as well. Oh and I used glass effects on the entire glass.

So here is my humble little card I made for last weeks CC Challenge. But I was thinking yesterday, I didn't follow any rules. I used a digital color page, no ribbon, or lace, and totally wrong sketch. Wow can I say flighty! Well I would like to blame it all on my no sleep in the hospital, but I did pack the image before the no sleep, hmmm. Nope still gonna try to say it was the lack of sleep.

That is all I have to say! I will try to follow the rules this week. (i actually have my card done already, so I know I did.)

Well I have a few projects that have been done and just never uploaded. Here is the Cards I made for the boys' teachers for the begining of the school year. It amazes me how they can teach and mold so many minds. I only have two at home and they drive me crazy so I think teachers are so under appreciated. These were just a little thanks for teaching my children cards.

CCC last week- sketch

Jeanette did this beautiful sketch for Wednesday's Challenge. I wish I could say I got to use it, but my eldest ended up in the hospital, so no such luck. I even tried to get it done at the hospital. I got a beautiful card made, and then relized I used the wrong sketch. Duh! So when I get a chance to unpack my hospital bag and get a picture of the card for the wrong sketch I will upload it for you. I know brillant right!

Jason is feeling much better and hopefully we don't ever have to do that again. The U of M children's Hospital was amazing thou. Great nurses, doctors, and staff showed so much care and love to my buddy. Jason commented on the way home,"I am glad they all said I was cute". Yeah I think he had a crush or two on some of his nurses and doctors.

Well atleast that is the weather here this am. I figured I would get around to posting some of my recent makes. . .

so this one is of my baby (five years ago), I am a bit behind in my scrapping. He still is a messy eater, should have figured. yes if you come to my house you can pick where he usually sits by the table, because of the floor beneath him. hehe. Love him to peices, every messy one of them.

I used a layout from one of the CTMH idea books, either cherish or Imagine. I downsized the 12x12 to a 9x9 by multipling the measurements by .75. I cut the title with my wishblade and welded it with the line. Love my wishblade, so glad I got it working again. Papers are from the Cocoa Cafe Collection, which was a special CTMH packet a long time ago, but I tend to hoard paper so I have a bunch of it left. I heat embossed the food and the little circle saying in daisy white. Popped up a few circles with pop dots.

Well I am off to go fishing with Bud today, and John and Dude are out to the field to combine corn. So much for lazy lazy Sunday.

I paper peice the owl as well as inking it in places. The eyes are brads. Owl is from Whoo loves You set from CTMH, Papers are from CTMH too- can't recall the name off hand. Ribbon was bulk cut from Archivers, so no clue, but it is a beautiful sparkly gray. Sorry kept it fairly simple this week.

Falling Leaves!!!! Got to love them. Well I do anywhoo. I have set the challenge on CCC this week, so that was what it is. Hope you join us and hope you like my take on the challenge. I enjoyed making this one.

This is the stamp set that is up for grabs this week at CCC.

I used Falling Leaves set from CTMH and the new Olivia papers from there as well. they are adorable! Distress Inked with chocolate and stamped with with colors from the olivia kit. I actually hand stitched the swirl! I loved how it turned out so you will be seeing more of that for sure. Got this one done and many others at Scrapfest Crops this weekend. I will post a few pictures from scrapfest later this week when I have a few more minutes. All I got to say was Nita and I had a wonderful time overall. A little freaky that the maids left our door open, so that was a bit nerve racking, but we did get a free breakfast out of it so all good right? Anyway make sure to join us at CCC this week!

I loved doing this punk rocker card. I have had the stamps since CTMH introduced them and just have never gotten around to stamping with them. The girl image is from Tiddly Inks- Royal Proclomation ( i think). She was perfect for this whole theme. I did lots of heat embossing and even stamped and colored the dress by hand. I was impressed with myself. She reminds me of Lady GaGa a bit, well atleast she isn't wearing a meat dress! hahaha. Papers are all from the You Rock Set from CTMH. The boys first day of school

Jason started on the 7th. He waited so patiently for the bus not to come. We ended up making Auntie Shelly hold down at Ashley's house. But he did make it to the bus and had a wonderful first day of school.

Jake started on the 8th, but he only goes for the afternoon, so none of them getting on the bus together. I suppose I could get one of them coming off together, but I would like to avoid the "moooooommm" and eye rolls while I can. Jake gets to ride just him and Roger (bus driver) 20 minutes before they pick up the only other kid that gets on in the afternoon. Poor Roger is going to have to hear about how bad those red tractors are and how much better Green ones are. That and Jake always swindles him out of a piece of gum too.

Yeah I finially finished my card for this week. I know I have been slacking,so sorry. Kiddos go back to school next week. One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, mommy is so excited for the break. My sympathies to all those teachers though ;). You are all amazing and thanks for teaching our young ones!!!

I used a flat fold for the envelope and lined it with b&t paper. all paper and embellishments are from CTMH in jupiter and daisy white. Stamp was a dollar bin find at Crafts Direct or Joann's not sure. I did use liquid applique on the frosted part with ceiling glitter. It looks so fluffy and delicious, I could eat it up. hehehe. I can't wait for school to start and things to slow down and get back into a regular routine! I used Animal crackers paper packet from CTMH. The Love stamp and heart w/wings is from CTMH. As is all the ink. The main image is by my favorite artist the amazing Elizabeth Bell. The gems are from bling it by basic grey. I think I used the sketch from friday sketchers a few weeks back, but at this moment I don't remember for sure. (go figure!)

Wow times fun when you are having flies! Hehe that is one of my favorite froggy sayings, sorry. Anywhoozer, We have been keeping uber busy here yet. At least swim lessons got pushed back to the last week of July and begining of August so that should free up a bit of time for me as Jake as summer school mondays and wednesdays starting next week for 2 weeks. Atleast less running that is. Well I will get back to the personal stuff in a bit but for now here is the CCC challenge this week. . .

Create your own Buttons!! Fun fun right! Well I hope mine counts, I placed a clear button over the pattern paper that I wanted used some liquid glass to adhear and tada. . .
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers as my inspiration. The papers are all from the Emporium collection from CTMH as are all the embellishments as well. The stamp is from the "special day" set from CTMH. I colored the image with watercolor pencils and blending pen. With some spica pens for added sparkle.

So Jason passed level 1 in swimming and is excited to go to level two in a few weeks. I think we had our last wedding for the summer and now are just looking ahead at some family time. Hoping to get to see Dad, Joy, and Jake yet this summer, as well as Tom and Pika again.

Haha sorry didn't mean to scare ya there! Well it has been a busy few weeks, so sorry for my absence. Kudos to the CCC Design Team for all of their hard work and up keep of the Challenge Blog, each one means the world to me! and you all have so much other stuff going on as well, I don't know how you all manage it! So any way here is my update...

This week on Crafty Creations is to add stiching to your project real or fake. It is sponsored by the wonderful Wimsy Stamps and hosted by the beautiful Bea. (New to CCC and her very first posting-- a wonderful job as well) So here is my project for that. . .

Yes, I made both sets for the boys for Kristina's Wedding. Which is what as consumes so much time as of late. Kris and Brian were married on June 5th, 2010. A beautiful John Deere wedding, and we wish them all the happiness in the world. The boys love them so much and were so excited to be in the wedding.

So here are some Pics of the Candy Table I set up as well as pictures of me and the bride and my family.

We were graced with the presence of my sister from North Carolina for a week and my brother and his wife for the weekend of the wedding. It was so much fun getting together and bonding with my little sis. Miss her already! All I got to say is I still have not caught up on my sleep!

We all so learned of a few babies on the way too. My little sister Kayla is expecting her first. So excited for her and Neil! and my sister-in-law is expecting #5. We are so happy for Shelly and Jeremy and family as they add to their family! I am glad neither of them are me thou, yikes I got my hands full with two. How Shelly manages four is amazing and beyond me, always happy to babysit, but just don't think I have it in me for that much work and patience.

Okay I think I am done blabing for now. I will try to be back with more fam pics from my sister's visit and some artwork as well. Hugs, Jaime

As a Design Team member I was so lucky to get to pick my favorite for bugaboo, but to pick just one was a task. I will be going back there I am sure. (Jodie-- also has a freebie up for grabs over there too!) I choose Sun Bonnet Fireman with hose. He was just too cute! That and I had the perfect sentiment picked out in my head already, hehe.

I like the first one best, but figured I would let you see the other one too. I colored SB fireman with my CTMH markers and spica pens. Papers are all from CTMH. I want to say animal crackers, but not for sure at present. I embellished with dark blue babbles.

Kris's wedding invites. . .

And yes they took a bit of time, but with less then a month to go they have all be sent out already. So Jake asks me last night who is going to be at Krissy's wedding. So I answer, mom, dad, uncle Tom, Auntie Pika, G-pa Terry, G-ma Joy, G-ma Sue, Auntie Kelsey, Auntie Kayla. He looks at me and says well isn't Krissy gonna be there? Well yes Jake. What about Brian is he going to be there too? I could already see where this was going, can you?

We also have the candy Tractors made for the big day, now I just need to find the time to get the rest of the Candy table decor done. Hmmmmm.... Oh and yes after the boys saw these we had to make 40 for their classes too for may day. Silly little boys.

Welcome back for another week's challenge. THis one is a bit on the distressing side. No not really depressing, but it is all about the DISTRESSING this week. We want to see how Distressed you can get with this weeks challenge. This week's prize is offered by Soft Pencil. Soft Pencil was nice enough to let the DT play with their images this week. They were too cute!!!!

I used all spicas to color in the image from soft pencil this week and sparkly fluff from The Craft Lounge for the bunny. The papers are all CTMH - sweet leaf CS, Miracle Kit Design paper, and one from the Tinkerin'. I used the edge distressing tool on all pieces, and then Desert Sand ink to the edges, and some Chocolate with the speckle tool thingy on some of it. Finished it off with a few rub ons (on the squared tabs and card.) and some bling. Hope you join us this week and help us to welcome our 3 new DT members!

Limited Edition CCC

I have to say the latter was the most difficult for me. As I tend to do more solids then Design papers anyway and the image was a breeze. I cheated and used a rub on for my saying. Wow, I can't believe it is Wednesday again! Busy Busy! Well it was my week to set the challenge at Crafty Creations this week. So with the begining of spring what better than to do babies!

My card this week features Melinda blowing Kisses from WoJ stamps. I masked the "kisses" and did a CTMH rub on bird instead. So it looks like she is kissing the little birdie. Papers are all CTMH and I used my new martha stewart punch for the border punch. Pearls are CTMH as are all the rub ons and word stamps. I colored Melinda with H2O pencils and flesh tone copic. Glittered with spicas. the little green bling was a gift from Shelly--thanks Miss Shelly!

I oppted for a non-paper craft this week. I have not sewn anything since my laptop bag a year ago or the misc. card here and there. I found the apron as a cut out kit. I of course did not follow directions as I am a Robertson and hate doing so. I love how it turned out, I just wish I would have had chocolate brown thread for the fancy stitching, but cream complemented it okay as well.

Yes I used it last night to make cookies with my boys. So I had Jason snap a picture of his dear mom in it. Sorry not the best picture of me, but the apron looks wonderful! Hehe. (Dad did you expect anything but John Deere at this point)

I did buy some patterns and some fabric to make some more as I do love wearing aprons and forgot how much till last night. (as I am one of the dirtiest cooks I know) hehe.

Jason Update: Jason had ear tubes put in and his adnoids removed on Monday. He was a sleepy little bugger for the last two days and he is actually up and making a card at the moment. Hopefully he will be ready for school on Monday. He isn't eating at all and drinking is forced by his mother relentlessly. (Jason go take a drink) I understand it hurts I was there 16 years ago. Above that he seems to have a cough and fever, so if it doesn't get better in the next 2 days then they will end up seeing him back or giving him antibotics. He says he can hear lots better already and he talks different. ( I think it sounds kinda cute right now-- a bit nasally and higher, but that should go away after the swelling goes down) Now I just need to motivate him to do all his homework!

The rest of us are doing fine and Jake is loving Preschool and so excited to get to go to Kindergarden next year. My babes are growing so fast.

I took an 8 1/2 x 11 paper and cut diag. across. scored and folded so it had three panels. the front panel I made into a pocket to hold my small pull out tag. The flowers were cut with die cut and middle on was hand cut. crunched, inked and layered. Everything, but the fabric flower was CTMH.
